I am, and have been, a trial attorney for more than twenty years. I love it. Having to use the law, under pressure, at trial, ensures that I actually know it, in detail, and keep it to use the next time it can benefit one of my clients.
I try cases that include commercial sales disputes under the Uniform Commercial Code; real property disputes, including claims of adverse possession and partition actions; first-party insurance claims; insurance defense, where I am retained to defend an insured under the terms of his liability policy against claims that he negligently injured a third-party; and intentional torts. My insurance defense background also has led me to defend against claims of medical and dental malpractice.
The first-party property insurance disputes carriers retain me for involve coverage disputes and potentially fraudulent insurance claims. These include taking the insured’s examination under oath and writing comprehensive coverage opinions.
I also practice contracts law. Knowing how to interpret contracts allows me to draft contracts to benefit my clients and safeguard their rights. This includes everything from the purchase or sale of a business, to a lease, to production contracts.
I take on cases in every stage of litigation, from commencement, to the eve of trial, to the appellate level.
